Margarita Recipe

The margarita is a cocktail consisting of tequila, orange liqueur, and lime juice. The drink is served with salt on the rim of the glass. The margarita is a popular cocktail in North America and is the most common tequila-based cocktail in the world. The origins of the margarita are disputed. One story claims that the margarita was invented in 1938 by Carlos Herrera at his restaurant in Tijuana, Mexico. Herrera created the drink for Marjorie King, an American actress who was allergic to many spirits but not tequila. Another story claims that the margarita was invented in 1941 by Don Carlos Orozco at his restaurant in Juárez, Mexico. Orozco was making a traditional daisy cocktail for a group of American tourists when he ran out of the traditional brandy. He substituted tequila and served the drink with a slice of lime on the rim of the glass. The margarita became popular in the United States in the 1970s. The drink was popularized by Hollywood celebrities and was often seen in movies and television shows. The margarita is now one of the most popular cocktails in the world.

To make a Margarita, you will need:

1 ounce tequila 1 ounce triple sec 1 ounce lime juice Ice Salt (optional) Simply combine all of the ingredients in a shaker with ice, and shake until well-combined. Rim a glass with salt, if desired, and strain the Margarita into the glass. Enjoy!

Manhattan cocktail recipe from the Manhattan Club, New York City

Manhattan Cocital drink recipe.

How to make the perfect Manhattan Cocktail.

There are a few stories on the origins of the Manhattan cocktail.

The main story surrounding the origin of the drink recipe dates back to 1874, and was named after the famous Manhattan Club, in New York City. The story goes the Manhattan cocktail was invented to celebrate the election of Governor Samuel Tilden. And was invented by Dr. Iain MArshall. A true vintage cocktail drink and has become a classic. The Manhattan uses rye whiskey as the main ingredient.

Another story of the origin dates back to the 1860's. Again this recipe is from the Manhattan area and this story gives credit to a bartender who's name we know simply as Black, at a bar near Broadway and Houston streets.

Other earlier records show cocktails with different names, but the same ingredients. One of them uses Absinthe instead of the bitters.
