Classic Cocktails and Vintage Mixed Drinks: The Moscow Mule Recipe

How to make the Classic Moscow Mule Cocktail, with history and information.

This drink uses it's own type of mug, called of course, the Moscow Mule Mug witch is made of copper. The copper mugs help to keep the cocktail cold and zesty. The Moscow Mule was the drink the made Vodka popular with the general public, and one of the most popular spirits in the world. It was the result of a Vodka maker, a Ginger producer and a copper maker.

Because of the cold and zesty nature of the Moscow Mule, it first became popular in Los Angeles, California. Then the cocktail spread from LA across the United states.

The Moscow Mule today is getting harder to find in Bars and lounges. First, and foremost bar owners hated the fact that the mug's kept getting stolen so they stopped serving them. Second Ginger Ale or Ginger Beer was never really that popular. You can still find a classic Moscow Mule if you try hard. We have a lounge right down the street that still serves the original Moscow Mule, copper mug and all.
